THE REVIEW

Revlon's Charlie 'Red' EDT was introduced in 1993. According to old users, it was reformulated and smells watered down starting around the 2010's. I have four variants of Revlon's Charlie perfumes -- Gold, Red, Blue and White. For a selling price of PhP 450.00, a volume of 100mL EDT is pretty generous for an authentic, original, foreign brand or imported perfume.

The scent of this perfume smells exactly like my Coconut Magnolia. Most people don't have an idea what it smells like, so let me elaborate further -- you know the scent of those cotton blossom perfumes? You know the scent of those gels that you squeeze out from a tube and then blow them into a bubble? Cross those scents together and that is what you get with the RED variant.

Aside from the intoxicating smell of Coconut Magnolia flowers, it also has a sweet sweet fruity smell (plums and peaches), ambery, floral and woody (cedarwood). At times the cedarwood overpowers the other notes, at times it smells just fine.

All of the Charlie perfumes had an enormous sillage in the opening. It's just so heavenly to be enveloped in fragrance! Within half hour, it mellows down to a moderate to light scent until the second hour, by then more of a skin scent. The scent is long lasting and reminds me once in a while that it is still there.

Revlon's Charlie 'Red' EDT is an intoxicatingly beautiful unisex scent even if it has floral, fruity and sweet notes. Of the four variants, Gold and Red are my favorites. I'd love to recommend it for everyone to try. For the price of PhP 450.00, it gives you good value for money in terms of smooth blend, performance, and volume.
