THE REVIEW

The first variant of Avon's Black Suede in my possession was the 'Intense' EDT. I  also own several Black Suede variants -- Intense EDTTouch EDTClassic EDC, Essential EDT and Leather EDC.

For a retail price of PhP 700.00, you get a masculine design bottle that looks like a piece of 100mL glass brick that feels good to handle and grasp. Variants of the Black Suede may come in EDC or EDT strength, the 'Touch' comes as eau de toilette concentration.

The opening blast immediately gives me an impression of ginger, more like ginger ale, since ginger is the top note. It's funny, because once the heart notes of patchouli and black pepper merge with the ginger, I get something like a fizzling 7-Up soda. 7-up, not Sprite! It is an amusing scent in that way. Afterward, this impression fades and a vastly different impression emerges, as if like a new scent. This second personality gives me a warm creamy feeling evoked by notes of tonka beans, vanilla, and resinous amber/woods. It is this second scent that is the long lasting part. May I say that the Black Suede 'Touch' EDT is like Jekyll and Hyde, two different personalities alternating and waltzing once in a while.

The sillage is disappointingly mild to the 'Touch', as the name indicates. It begins with a mild sillage and then immediately fades into a skin scent. The saving grace is that it really sticks to the skin and sometimes even hard to wash off. The perfume stays until the next day, as with all other Black Suede variants I owned.

Summary/Conclusion:
Opens like a ginger ale scent, followed by 7-Up soda impression.
The second personality emerges as a warm creamy vanilla/tonka bean combo.
Sillage is mild to the 'Touch' and recommended for those who like mild scents.
Lasting power is super.
Smells like a nice scent to wear after a shower.
I would describe it as a fresh-spicy scent.
This is not my personal favorite, I still vote 'Intense' as the best of them all.
It is an okay scent, but for its price, I want a real strong perfume.
Fortunately, you can find a good bargain price in the right places.
