Here in the Philippines, this plant is recommended for part shade and a great indoor plant. It can tolerate full sun, but it looks to brown/scorch when it gets too hot during summer months. However, more sunlight and heat encourages more growth and flowering, naturally.

This is a very hardy and reliable shrub. My pot was flooded by rain many times but it doesn't seem to care at all. It also looks to do well with less frequent watering. It's very hardy, I said so.

Flowers come slowly and there are one or two at any time it wants to bloom. Flowers usually open starting at 8:00PM, being the most intensely fragrant around 3:00AM. You need to be a night person to appreciate its flowers.

The flower is not overly fragrant and not a typical floral scent, but you can smell it meters away. The flower has a creamy ozonic honey-like scent. If you want to wear this perfume, the Revlon Charlie 'Red' EDT is a perfect replica of this flower's scent!

From experience, this is a very low maintenance plant. It's very hardy that can survive extreme heat and rains, flooding or drought. Due to its tolerance to shade, it is also a popular indoor plant. It never needed fertilizers. Just ample sunlight and water. It's impossible to kill one of these!
