The Pachira aquatica is believed to bring good luck and invite fortune into your household. Not to be mistaken for a popular bonsai tree sold in the Philippines, which is the 'Pachira glabara'. It is the most popular plant according to Feng Shui because it creates good energy around the house. For those who are less inclined to superstition, this plant also holds well for its ornamental characteristic and its nut is also edible, a staple in some countries. The flowers are said to be very fragrant. The plant was growing vigorously when I used to have it almost two years ago, it suddenly died long ago.
