The Hanabishi HIWF-180W wall fan was bought online two years ago. It runs on 70 watts of power, (fans usually at 60 watts). It has 5 years warranty on the motor). The body casing is made of high quality glossy plastic while the fan and grills are made of aluminum. It uses pure copper on the motor, allowing reduced power consumption and higher speed.

The reason I bought it was because one of the fans at home was broken and wanted to try something different than stand fans. It was the chance to try this powerful fan to cool the room. My suggestion for people who want to buy powerful fans like this is to install them on the wall facing the window, so that the fan blows hot air out of the room (or act like an exhaust).

When I turned the fan to #1, it was really powerful but a little noisy understandably. The air around the room felt cool as if using an air-con; this comes handy for hot summer days. During cooler months, I open this fan to #1 for 5 minutes, turn if off for an hour, then cycle again. This 180 watt industrial fan should do well with bigger rooms such as dining, lobby, living room even outside. (My room has a big dimension of 3.5 x 3 meters.) However, I find it hard to sleep with this fan turned on because of the noise and then the room becomes uncomfortably windy. Some of you may actually like it, but it's just my personal preference. I like a warm room with some air circulation.

UPDATE: As of 28 August 2019, I have bought a cheap alternative so I can sleep peacefully at night. Check out the 'Mabuhay Star' Ceiling Fan (3-Blades, 00mm).
