The Review

Why I decided to buy (Expectations)

I ordered this item from an online store and the total price for the item plus shipping still beats the price of regular eyeshadow you'd buy from shops. Minus the commute and middle person. If anything, I don't need super pigmented colors, but subtle for a natural look. A little bit of color on the eyelids but not too much as to announce that you're wearing eyeshadow. Something pearly with a little shimmer. Not glittery. Not too metallic.

Packaging

Would you believe this eyeshadow set only sells for PhP 116.00? Add 50 Pesos for the shipping, you still get it cheaper than any other drugstore palette! Furthermore, every detail on their packaging looks neat and thoughtful -- the rubber applicator looks high quality, matte texture on the box and casing doesn't scream cheap, the grammar is perfect, there's a carton padding inside the box, then there's a plastic wrap outside the box. Then also add the generous bubble wrap to protect the item during shipping. So much effort for something so cheap??? [Because it's made in China.]

If they forgot one thing though, is a mirror that typically comes with eyeshadow palettes. Btw, the palette has a light warming sesame oil scent.

The Colors

I picked set #6 because of the nudes. The colors have a light pearly shimmer (except for one cream colored matte), not glitter or metallic. This pearly shimmer dominates and you can see more of the pearliness than the pigmentation. This is the down if you want really pigmented colors that will pop, but if natural is what you are after, this is fine. I would describe the pigmentation as something like translucent. You can see the shade but still very subtle yet buildable.

Frankly, I only need two shades. One deep mink and then one pearly cream color. The four shades in the middle are variations of nudes/browns, then a light cream matte shade on one end and a metallic cobalt blue on the other end. It doesn't make sense. But in fairness, the blue shade comes handy as an eyeliner shade, at least for my taste. The shade selection is fine, but they should have balanced so that half of it were deeper shades.

The colors from left to right are:
Cream (matte) - as base, brighten up the lower eyelid
Taupe (pearl/shimmer) - pale nude, very transluscent
Ginger (pearl/shimmer) - an earthy-brown color, the best color even using it alone
Bronze (pearl/shimmer) - orangey color
Copper (pearl/shimmer) - too orangey
Metallic Blue (pearl/shimmer) - a beautiful smokey shade, love it too!

Performance

I'm a fan of minimalism (obviously!). I usually don't go out with makeup nowadays and it feels very liberating. Occasionally, I just want a little gem on my eyes and this comes handy. No makeup, no primer, just this eyeshadow... it lasts all day and doesn't fade! The more oily my eyelids, I notice the stronger its grip.

Conclusion

If you are expecting very pigmented, you will be disappointed and go look somewhere else. For nudists, this is a fine set. Even if you won't like your purchase, it's very cheap so you won't feel very angry. In comparison, local eyeshadow sets like those from EB, F21/FS, Shawill, etc. are very very pigmented if you want alternatives. These last photos are unedited/raw photos of myself wearing it. This is exactly how they appear in real life. The colors add life to my eyelids without looking like it's overdone, since this is for everyday use and I want something natural and subtle.

Is it worth the purchase?...      YES.
Do I like it?...      MOSTLY.
Is it high quality?...      DEFINITELY.
Does it last?...     ALL DAY.
Suitable for...      NUDISTS.

I'm using the blue color as eyeliner shade.
