A serious catastrophe devastated our household in 2022... we lost 8 cats, mostly due to virus. It happened when I fostered two kittens in July and one in August. That was the period when virus broke out. It's a harrowing experience... we still lose our cat friends no matter how much care and protection we give them. They get alot of healthy supplements such as virgin coconut oil (well known virus and bacteria killer, good for stomach and inflammations), humic acid, etc.

Our ginger cat Sol is the only one who suffered from virus and survived. Our other cats were asymptomatic (they were all adults), while the ones affected by virus were young ones less than one year old. The FPV virus (aka distemper) causes problems with the gastrointestinal tract. During this period of illness, the cats stop to eat or drink and need supportive care to recover. The general prognosis is that if they can survive the first four days, then they can recover and even get lifetime immunity.
