THE REVIEW

Avon's Imari 'Bold' EDT was launched in 2017, also known as 'Fantasy' outside of the Philippines. Just look for the orange bottle, you can't get wrong. This perfume was reviewed by others as similar to Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel (2001) and Lancome La Vie est Belle (2012). For almost 20 years, I've had several Imari versions -- the original red 'Imari' (1985), the old design white 'Satin', the new black 'Velvet', the new purple colored 'Seduction', and now the orange 'Bold/Fantasy'.

Why I decided to buy Avon's Imari 'Bold/Fantasy' EDT? Mandarin... pink pepper... hazelnut... caramel... orange blossom. The opening blast gives me an uplifting aroma of mandarin orange with a hint of juicy pear. Nothing is spicy or peppery at all. Within half an hour, a thicker more opaque group appears -- caramel, jasmine sambac and hazelnut. Once in a while you can smell patchouli and ambery notes come out. The fragrance has a theme built around the mild sweetness of caramelized mandarin orange, hazelnut, jasmine, and oriental.

This perfume keeps pumping up from my skin to fill the room with deliciously sweet fragrance up to around 4 hours. After that, the scent mellows to skin scent and once in a while wafts of fragrance radiate again to remind me of its boldness. This formula is magical!
