In my previous post, we featured Petyum Cat Food in Seafood Feast flavor. The 10 kilogram variant lasted 4 weeks for my over 20 rescue cats at home. This time, I wanted to try their sister brand, the Petlicious Cat Food in Salmon Flavor. These two brands are made by the same manufacturer and distributed in the Philippines by the same company.

I'm not really sure about the difference between the two brands since the ingredients list and nutrition info are the same. These are the differences based on my observation and use:

1. Petyum offers mixed flavors like Seafood Feast and Carnival Classics; while Petlicious offers single specific flavors such as Salmon and Tuna.
2. Petyum kibbles are round, feels oilier on my fingers, and somewhat crunchier. The Petlicious absorbs water more easily, has a softer texture, and crumbles easily in the mouth when I ate it.
3. I think the Petyum is better for coat shine since it is oilier, while the Petlicious is softer and more suitable for picky eaters and young kittens.

Same benefits of both brands:

1. The ingredients contain meats of chicken, beef, fish and duck. Most other brands only contain one type of meat, usually chicken.
2. Essential nutrients that cats need: fish oil, chicken oil, taurine, L-lysine, DL-methione, vitamins and minerals.
3. Good for the digestive system: beet pulp and yucca extract.
4. The seller ALWAYS OFFERS DISCOUNTS AND FREE SHIPPING. Lumalabas na 80 Pesos na lang per kilo ng cat food.

Feeding Guide:

I use 1/8 measuring cup per cat. Each 1/8 cup of Petlicious kibbles weighs about 12 grams without counting the weight of the measuring cup. Based on the feeding guide, I should give each cat 1/8 cup per meal, three times daily. I also add a little rice to increase their food intake.

ALWAYS add water to your cat's dry kibbles to prevent UTI, blocked bladder and eventually kidney failure. This is true for any brand of cat food, no exceptions. Adding two tablespoons of water is sufficient. I like to level up their nutrition by using malungay water instead (you can see it in the video above).

CONCLUSION:

Some of you might be judgmental toward me for saying that I love this cat food and sometimes I eat one cup of Petlicious Salmon when I'm hungry. It smells milky when I open the container, and has a light creamy cheese flavor. It has a nice flavor to it. The kibbles are soft and chewy. My cats find this addicting and go crazy every meal time.
