REVIEW
I have been buying my own Avon fragrances since early 2000s. All Avon fragrances I have been buying since the early 2000s were always made in the Philippines. The Choc Berry is the only exeption, being 'made in Poland'. It comes in a beautiful bottle and colorful box.
Bought: December 2022. As of publishing today November 1st 2023, the very last perfume I bought was Avon's Choc-Berry. I stopped buying perfumes for a while and focused on my inspired fragrances business since December 2022.
The Avon Choc-Berry EDT opens with a delicious vanilla powder dominated profile, a bit of earthy chocolate underneath, a bit of fruitiness. Although pear and vanilla were not offically listed by Avon, one can smell those notes too. Other people who smelled it in an airconditioned room said they smelled a strong whiff of chocolate cream. The fragrance is gourmand and sweet, but not overly syrupy sweet. Just pleasantly sweet to make you smile.
The perfume has a good amount of sillage and can fill an air-conditioned or closed room. It also lasts for a good 4 hours or so, but now mostly skin scent.
Avon's Choc-Berry surprisingly smells like an exact dupe of Katy Perry 'Meow' (2011) especially with the dominating sweet vanilla scent (thanks to vanillin and coumarin). Parang exact copy pero the Avon has a bit of earthy smoky chocolate undertone.
Conclusion: It's an enjoyable perfume to have if you like delicious gourmand, but it doesn't give a revolting overdose of sweetness. It's fun to wear anytime anywhere. I really loved it, but I think this is only limited edition. Many of the old Avon perfumes I used to wear in the 2000s were also sadly discontinued long ago. In case it happens, I can go for the KP Meow later.
