Wow, it's been 5 years since I have bought this product in August 2013! Now I'm totally re-writing this review from scratch piecing together what I wrote, my vivid memory of this scent, and new information. FM#21 was one of the perfumes I bought from the past that still like today. Things change, so here is an update about the product...

It used the old bottle design and was called
'FM Classic Collection EDP #21'

Today it is called
'Federico Mahora Pure Collection #21 Parfum'

I'm not sure what the original Chanel No.5 smells like, but they say it smells soapy, strong, musky, and deep. Old school floral which people usually call 'a grandmother perfume'. A timeless classic scent. That's why I took an interest in finding something unusual as this scent.

Eau de Parfum #21 was inspired by Chanel No. 5...
So far, the notes listed above seem to be present and very concentrated. The aldehydes give the signature soapy-waxy-vanilla scent. The slightly bitter orange scent, the floral ylang-ylang and rose were also there. Woody sandalwood also smells present. Most of all, the animal musk isn't shy to appear either. Civet musk smells very pungent according to literature, but that is what gives florals their heavy musky scent.

EDP #21 has a powerful sillage and that is why I love it. The staying power is just as good. Alot of those inspiration scents usually just show the top and heart but skip on the base where the expensive ingredients usually are. This fragrance smells like luxury with an affordable price. I think this variant should be called "No.5", not "#21" lol

My only problem is that it was very hard to find a dealer and when I contacted them again in 2018, they said there is no office in the Philippines. You can directly get in touch with them via FB or website. Their numbering system is also easy to forget, they should have included their inspiration scents in the description so people can easily remember... rather than numbers in their catalogue of over a hundred scents.

There is a proliferation of counterfeit perfumes in a popular online shopping site, often disguised as 'testers', 'class A', and sometimes they even pass it off to unsuspecting buyers like me as the real thing! Buy quality perfumes like those from Federico Mahora rather than fall into the trap of unknowingly buying counterfeit and fakes.

About FM Group: It was founded in Poland in 2004. Their partner for creating high quality fragrances is Drom Fragrance (established 100 years ago in Munich Germany) whose top clients also include L'Oreal and Escada.

[At the time that I wrote this review 5 years ago, I also had the EDP #312 in my wishlist. It was described as "the captivating scent of Peony, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla and green and citrus notes".]
