I'm re-writing the reviews here in my blog, which is a monumental task. Btw, I would like to give this post the distinction of being the first ever review in this originally beauty blog (expanded to pets, food, and fragrances) back when it used to be known as 'Beauty On A Shoestring Budget'.

Nabili ko itong San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation from HBC as part of their year-end sale in November 2011. The frosted bottle comes with a spatula applicator. Maybe it might be more hygienic if it was a pump bottle instead. The style of this bottle makes it hard to get product out once you are left with around 25%.

The foundation has a buttery-vanilla fragrance first, but later it gives me some rubber tire undertone. This is a silicone-foundation and by the looks of the liquid it is very viscous and shiny/oily. It looks oily on the skin at first but later dries to a matte finish and holds well for hours. It lasts very long, gives full coverage, blemish correction.

I feel very little on the moisturization side and sometimes it feels warm on the skin. Anyway, silicone acts as an occlusive film over the skin which traps moisture. Wala naman problem sa skin ko, but my bessie complained after one use na it felt hot on her skin and she had zits afterwards.

The shades I owned were #2 Light Beige, #3 Tan and #4 Peach. #2 was too light, #3 was a bit darker than my light golden beige skin tone, and #4 was a reddish-tan. For those who suggest blending the shades, you are being impractical -- you buy two products, you take time to blend, you may not get the shade right.

Avoid using it around the eye area, even just under the eye bags. I notice it does run to my eyes and then leaves a slightly irritating sensation that needs to be washed off a few times. I may not buy again, thank you!

05 February 2012.
It was my friend's wedding day.
I used #3 for this occasion and retouched
only once for the whole day
(with San San Age Defense Pressed Powder)...
and still looking fresh!
