Paula's Choice hosted its Philippine launch event on 02 October 2013 at The Den in Mariott Hotel. There were demos of their products and then they gave me some products for a feature on this blog. One of the products demoed by Ms. Naree Mongkol, Managing Director of Paula's Choice in Southeast Asia -- was called 'RESIST', an anti-aging system that is suitable for all skin types, smooths wrinkles, builds collagen and fades dark spots. It contains Boerhavia diffusa root extract. This plant has strong anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-carcinogen properties which make it a perfect ant-aging ingredient. She adds that this item is to be used right after your toner, and before you apply your makeup.
My first impression was that the gel instantly disappears and absorbed deep into the skin after applying. There is no feeling of greasiness, but the skin does feel noticeable more elastic and not dry, but still not dewy or overly moist. Just silky powdery finish... which is why it really does work great to be applied before makeup!
Our skin has a tendency to compensate for dryness by over-secreting oil to keep it elastic, which is why moisturizer is a must for oily skin. I noticed that my skin was exactly like that, and within a week of using this skin treatment, my skin was noticeable not crazy oily anymore.
There are many skin care products out there that would retail as much as 10,000 Pesos just for a 50 gram pot which I think is insane... and OVERRATED. Paula's Choice products normally retail around PhP 1,200+. For the price and generous volume, I think that the Resist is a reasonably priced skin care product. All of Paula's Choice products do not use irritating fragrance, harmful preservatives (it's paraben-free!), and colorants. As of this moment (I wrote this article soon after launch), Paula's Choice Philippines is working closely with online shops and individual sellers to bring the products to you.
