Aido has been producing affordable makeup since 1973 and is part of the umbrella that also markets Fashion 21 and FS makeup brands. Not many can travel (particularly in this lockdown period in the midst of a panademic), thank goodness they finally began selling in Shopee as of August 2020 and now much easier to reach. I bought one again in 2020, having missed it so much.

This Aido Cream Powder was bought in April of 2012 from the department store and it was selling at PhP 75.00 at the time. The one I bought in 2012 had a medicated-floral scent which I liked. However, the one recently bought in 2020 had absolutely no scent. Everything else look to be the same. The size of the pan is a little bigger than regular powders and very generous for its price. The soft velvet puff was nice to use but I prefer to use a flat powder brush.

It is best to use this powder with a lotion as base, such as the wonderful Silka Age Defying Lotion with Jojoba Oil. The product leaves a very smooth baby-skin and glass-skin finish compared to other powders. It looks like my skin is matte and shine-free but not a thick cakey. I always just use it on top of bare skin, no moisturizers. It looks great for photography.

My skin tone varies from warm golden beige to a lighter golden color. The shade I bought #3 was supposedly the darkest in the set, but it looks a tiny bit lighter than my natural skin tone. Ultra smooth and parang bare skin lang, hindi ako naka powder. At the end of the day in an airconditioned office, and having only applied once throughout the day, the powder holds well and maintains a close match to my skin tone. It also looks fine when I am going around outdoors during a hot and sweaty afernoon. Hindi siya tulad ng ibang powder na nagkakaroon ng streaks or look cakey later in the day. The oil control is good and lasts all day. After prolonged use over a month, it never caused any zits or clogged pores.

Conclusion: Baby skin finish that looks nice for photography. Prep the skin with a non-greasy lotion and then use a flat powder brush for light baby skin porcelain smooth finish. This powder is recommended for those with light to medium-light skin. Alternatively, their sister company Fashion 21 offers a better color match for morena and darker skin tone.
