July 2012, I bought this Shawill Balanced Foundation because their offering of three corrector shades (Lavender, Orange, Jade) and four regular yellow-based shades was an attractive option compared to most other brands that only provided limited shades.

The foundation that comes out of the tube has a weird chemical odor (the same with the other Shawill foundations/powder I've used). I do not trust their labelling -- the description says 'Fragrance-Free', then in the ingredients they put fragrance?

It has a non-greasy but very moist consistency and ends up very dewy even after you powder up. Oil control is very poor and I do not see any good reason to wear this foundation since it also has a sheer coverage and neither is it good for the skin. The chemicals made my skin very itchy with a burning sensation particularly around the eyes half of the time I used it. I've never ever experienced this with any other makeup product. EVER.

As a regular consumer like you, I love to take the time to read and research the ingredients list. Methyldibromo Glutaronitrile is a commonly used preservative in Shawill products and never in any other makeup I've reviewed. In Europe, it was actually banned for use in cosmetics since 2008. Just seeing words like ‘BANNED’ and ‘IMMUNE SYSTEM TOXICANT’ in the following article raised red flag.

I threw it away after using up half the bottle. Who knows, I could have developed skin problems if it prolonged. Crap product.
