Fashion 21 Two Way Cake
Retail (2012): PhP 185.00/Compact, PhP 130.00/Refills
Coverage: Medium to Full
SPF: SPF 35++
Net Weight: 15 grams
Variants: Regular, Papaya, Milk, Tea Trea Oil
Made in Taiwan
The first variant I ever bought was from March 2012, the Tea Tree Oil variant. The casing has quite a hefty weight to it, they must have use very durable high-quality plastics. In case you already have a compact, they also come in refills.
This two way cake contains Vitamin E and sunscreen in all the variants. The shades vary depending on variant. For example, the shades on Papaya look to be neutral beige, Milk has more yellowish undertones, Tea Tree Oil looks like peachy, and Regular looks tan-based.
All of them have thick coverage and above average oil control and performance during the day. TTO has the longest oil control. Papaya more on brightening the skin. Milk the best in its color undertones. Regular looks... regular.
Among the four, Milk has to be my favorite, but I will also recommend the TTO.
REGULAR
"Our two-way cake is a silky-smooth pressed powder when dry, but just add water and you’ve got a foundation that provides excellent coverage without caking. It also comes with SPF 35+ to help protect delicate skin from the harsh tropical sun and keeps you looking fresh all day long. You’re bound to find a match for your skin from any one of the four different shades."
This variant has a strong medicated scent and may turn off many people, while it is okay for me. I own Regular #4 (darkest out of four shades), but has an ashy-grey undertone on my skin. I didn't like it very much.
MILK MOISTURIZER
"Milk is nature’s secret to smoother skin, and our classic two-way cake gets a boost with milk moisturizers to give you a soft, flawless complexion that’s fit for royalty. This powder comes in three shades that will go perfectly with any skin tone."
Oh wow, Milk is so yummy I get cocoa butter scent. My favorite variant. There are only three shades and I got #2 (lighter than my skin tone) and #3 (#3 is too warm and has a The Simpsons yellow effect). It leaves a dewy natural-looking finish after some hours thanks to its moisturizing properties (Milk Thistle and milk proteins). Unlike the other variations, this powder feels very creamy!
PAPAYA
"Walking around with naturally white, glowing skin is easy when you use our two-way cake with natural papaya essence, which is known to help lighten skin tone. This powder comes in three natural shades that can be blended perfectly into your skin."
It also had a delicious cocoa butter aroma. Shade #3 was the darkest available, but it has a pale beige effect on me. Still too light.
TEA TREE OIL
"If you’ve ever had trouble with makeup fading too quickly or streaking because of your skin is oily, worry no more. Our two-way cake comes equipped with tea tree oil, which is perfect for keeping oily skin under control and even helping to lighten annoying blemishes. Comes in four shades that are perfect for all skin tones."
It has a pleasant tea leaf scent. I got #4, supposedly the deepest shade out of four. The result is a sunny, brightening effect. According to the SA, the light shades work great and are intended for acidic skin. Aside from the luminosity on my face, it also has the best oil control of the four variants.
